Just a reminder that the first 3 make-up days will be used for those snow days we had! April 19, 26, and May 3. Those will all be regular session school days now.

Here are several important announcements from the Rich Hill School District: Due to District basketball, the meet the board candidate night for tomorrow night has been cancelled. The Osage Valley Prop 2 presentation will begin at 6:30pm and will be streamed on the Power Up Rich Hill Facebook page if you cannot make it to the high school auditorium. The boys will be playing at Thomas Jefferson in Joplin tonight at 6pm and the girls will take on McAuley in Joplin Wednesday night at 6pm. Due to the condition of the back roads, partially covered highways, and completely covered town routes, Rich Hill will be out on Friday, February 19 for a traditional snow day that will be made up at a later time. A decision will be made by 11am in the morning for sports activities tomorrow afternoon and evening so please wait for an announcement from the school instead of contacting offices or school officials for more information. Only 12 month staff and office staff need to report to work tomorrow.

I'm sorry my message was confusing. I tried to share too much info. No School, AMI virtual day on Thursday, February 17. We do not know about Friday yet. Thank you.

This is an important announcement from Rich Hill. Due to the condition of residential and county roads, Rich Hill will use its 3rd AMI virtual day. We get a total of 5 AMI days. We have 2 regular snow days we already have to make up, most likely in April and May. We will provide notification once the final decision on makeup days has been made. Just like today, high school teachers will hold virtual classes and elementary teachers will be making personal contact with students. We appreciate your patience. The dangerous temperatures should be behind us and we are hoping the weekend sees most of the snow and ice melt away so we can have a normal week next week. 12 month employees and cooks will be at work and all 3 offices will be open for shortened hours tomorrow. Thank you.

There will be no school on Wednesday, February 17. This is an AMI virtual day. High school students will meet on their virtual schedule with their teachers for zoom. Elementary students will be contacted by their teachers for a check-in on their progress. Teachers will attempt to contact elementary students by phone. Thank you, stay warm and stay safe.

Here are several important announcements for Rich Hill Students and Staff:
Due to the extreme temperatures and road conditions, all staff are dismissed at 1pm today. Tomorrow will be a traditional snow day to be made up at a later time. This day is for all students, staff, and faculty. No one is to report to campus tomorrow. Due to the extreme temperatures, the building has been difficult to keep at a reasonable temperature, once we return to classes, please dress your kids warmly and bundled up for the bus ride to school. Again, there will be no one on campus Tuesday, February 16. This applies to all Rich Hill students and personnel. Thank you.

The Junior Class would like to thank everyone who supported the Silent Auction through donations and purchases we raised $1930 for JR-SR Prom.

Rich Hill WILL be in attendance on Wednesday, February 10. The Bates County Live website had several schools posted that had not canceled school for Wednesday and we were one of them. Please make plans to attend school on Wednesday, February 10 for seated, in-person instruction. Thank you and see you tomorrow.

Due to poor road conditions and extreme temperatures, the district will not hold in person classes tomorrow. This will be an Alternative Methods of Instruction Day. Students with a school issued chromebook will login to their classes to meet with their teacher. Elementary students will work on Day 1 of the packets sent home by their teacher and teachers will be checking in with them on their progress via email or by phone. Students may email their teacher to get help. Thank you and have a great evening.

Due to the freezing rain, low temperatures, and road conditions, Rich Hill is going to go ahead and cancel classes for today. Stay home, stay safe, and stay warm. Again, there are no classes for Rich Hill today. Thank you.

Due to the winter weather advisory extended through noon tomorrow and very cold temperatures expected, Rich Hill School District will conduct a 2 hour late start for 10am. All bus routes will be pushed back two hours from their normal time. Breakfast will still be served when student arrive at school. Please stay warm and safe in the morning. We will make further weather and cold related decisions during the course of the day Monday for the rest of the week.

Pep Assembly time!
