The Power to Make a Difference
Katie Klinksick, Rich Hill High School band and music teacher, was selected to receive Osage Valley Electric Cooperative’s Influential Educator Award. In addition to the award, she received a $250 gift card.
Ms. Klinksick was nominated by Rich Hill High School student, Izetta Person. Izetta was selected as one of four finalists in the Osage Valley Youth Tour Essay Contest and will attend the Washington DC Youth Tour in June. Each finalist was asked to name the educator with the most impact on their educational journey.
The Osage Valley Youth Tour Essay Contest program consists of an essay and an interview. The contest not only provides four finalists with a trip to Washington DC or Jefferson City but also strives to build character, confidence, and compassion through the experiences and speakers on the trip. These students are the leaders of tomorrow and Osage Valley wants to acknowledge the educators that encouraged them along the way.
Congratulations Ms. Klinksick and Izetta!
