Daylan Black, a Senior here at Rich Hill High School recently signed a letter of commitment to pole vault at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri. Daylan has soared to new heights over the past few years. He started pole vaulting in seventh grade and has added at least a foot in height to his jump every year since. He has worked hard and made his way to the MSHSAA State Competition in his sophomore and junior years with hopes of going again this year for his senior year. Daylan placed third at the state competition in 2023 with a jump of 12’ 11.75”. He is also a part of multiple All-State relay teams and an Academic All-State recipient. Daylan says he is ready for this track season and excited about competing in college as well.
