Mrs. Makenzie Bridgewater is from Council Grove, Kansas. She is in her second year at Rich Hill Elementary as a 3rd grade teacher, and her 4th year in education. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Emporia State University.
Besides teaching in the classroom, Mrs. Bridgewater has worked in a coffee shop, at a marina, with an auction crew, and at a summer camp for students with behavior or social needs.
Married to Adam Bridgewater, she had their first child, Myah, earlier this school year. They share their farm with a dog named Willow, a goat named Jenny, and "a big bunch of chickens." Mrs. Bridgewater loves to sing, dance, and teach dance. For hobbies, she makes homemade bread, dreams of being a cake baker, reading her Bible, and coordinating events for their church.
Mrs. Bridgewater says, "I am glad to be at Rich Hill where my husband and his family grew up. I love the small town atmosphere and the kind community members. I love the staff at RHE and how they have welcomed me as a new member of the staff."
She believes being a wife and mother are her two greatest accomplishments which she's dreamed of since she was little. She's also proud of being named the Kansas Exemplary Educators Network Teacher of Promise during her senior year of college.
Mrs. Bridgewater believes that all of her hard work has paid off. I'm sure her students believe that as well!
