The Patterson Foundation has awarded the Rich Hill R-IV School District $25,862 to help cover staffing costs associated with starting a daycare for staff. The school board decided to start a daycare to help recruit and retain teachers and staff to the Rich Hill School District. Knowing that daycare centers usually do well to break even, the school applied for a grant opportunity for daycare startups through the Patterson Foundation. The daycare is already fully utilized and beginning to look at additional staffing. The school will now have to decide if it should expand the daycare both in size and number of children accepted. This would most likely require building additional space onto the school or renovating existing space.
